The new Goldendale Observatory is complete!
The new Goldendale Observatory has finally been completed after 46 years since its original construction. This marks the first major renovation of the State Park and has brought about exciting changes. The main observatory dome and telescope have been upgraded, and a larger and more advanced learning center has been built to complement them. The new facility has tripled the seating capacity and features self-guided interpretive exhibits throughout the campus. Since its establishment in 1973, the Goldendale Observatory has been a treasure for star gazers, amateur astronomers, and students alike. Its convenient location on a hill overlooking town makes it one of the largest and most accessible public telescopes in the nation, attracting thousands of visitors every year. With its new upgrades, the Goldendale Observatory is sure to continue to inspire and educate people about the wonders of the universe for many years to come.
