About
Kiwanis is a global service organization founded in 1915. Originally focused on business, their motto changed to “Serving the children of the world” in 2005. Kiwanis members work together to address community needs, support children, and promote fellowship. Goldendale Kiwanis hosts fundraisers, places flags on city light poles, and distributes books to schools. With over 550,000 members worldwide, they meet regularly to discuss local issues and welcome visitors.
Kiwanis clubs and their members engage in service projects, fundraisers, and donations to the Kiwanis Children’s Fund. Their efforts impact children’s lives both locally and globally. Each year, Kiwanis members organize over 1.3 million service projects, raising nearly US$390 million for children, families, and communities worldwide. These projects address community needs, such as building playgrounds, acquiring medical equipment, supplying school backpacks, and replenishing libraries. On average, a Kiwanian positively influences the lives of 106 children.
