Camp out on Maryhill’s beautiful Great Lawn for stargazing guided by Rose City Astronomers and get ready for a truly special and unique evening at the museum.
What to Expect at Starry Night at the Museum
Event check-in begins at 4 pm on Saturday. The museum will remain open after hours exclusively for Starry Night ticketholders until 7 pm. Loïe’s: The Museum Cafe will be open inside the museum selling sandwiches, wraps, soups, salads, and beverages until 7 pm. Enjoy current exhibitions and collections, listen to stories, and gaze at the stars with telescopes.
Volunteers from Rose City Astronomers (Portland, OR) set up telescopes and teach participants about constellations in the night sky with a schedule of sightings well into the wee hours of the morning. Storyteller Will Hornyak and Astronomer Troy Carpenter (Goldendale Observatory) educate and entertain as the evening events proceed.
On Sunday, Loïe’s: The Museum Cafe reopens at 8 am for ticketholders. Coffee, tea, and a light continental breakfast will be available for purchase. Ticketholders receive complimentary access to the museum from 10 am until 5 pm that day.
